About Me

I’m a Cork‑based Humanist Celebrant, accredited by the Humanist Association of Ireland, and a registered legal wedding solemniser. Originally from Kilkenny, I’ve been living in Carrigaline, Co. Cork since 2010, where I share my life with my wife and our two beautiful lurcher dogs Millie & Penny.

Before becoming a celebrant, I spent many years working as a secondary school teacher, followed by more recent work in the further education sector with adults. Those years continue to shape how I work — listening closely, communicating thoughtfully, and taking time to understand what really matters to the people I work with.

I’m a committed humanist and an active member of the Cork City Humanist Group. Equality, respect, and compassion sit at the heart of my values. My involvement in the Marriage Equality campaign was a defining experience and led me to celebrancy. Because of that, LGBTQ+ inclusive weddings and ceremonies are especially close to my heart, and inclusion is always central to my work. I create humanist weddings, naming ceremonies, funerals, memorials, and family ceremonies, each shaped around the individuals at the centre of it. There’s no set script or prescribed way things should be done — each ceremony is built with care, sensitivity, and attention to your story.

Outside of celebrant life, music plays a big role for me. I sing with Cork’s LGBTQ+ choir Choral Con Fusion and play ukulele with Shandon Ukulele Ensemble. I enjoy gardening and growing some of my own vegetables — handy, as I’m vegan — and heading off for adventures in our much‑loved, well‑worn campervan whenever we get the chance.

I’m based in Carrigaline and regularly work across Munster and South Leinster. I’m also happy to travel further afield by special arrangement, where the connection feels right. If you would like to know more, contact me HERE.
